What are the best things about art fairs
Meeting the public and teaching them about my printmaking processes and my subject matter.
Best show ever and why
1st Dickens Fair, Kansas City, MO, in 1992 or 1993. Very festive show and I sold a lot of work. Also, a church commissioned a print for a fundraiser.
Worst show ever and why
Kansas City Renaissance Festival, 1986. First and last time that I did a Renaissance Fair, and wasn't really prepared for it. The weather was beautiful on some weekends and horrible with rain or frigid temps. Did not sell very much. I do like the whole feel of this type of festival: the sounds and smells. Maybe I will try again in Florida one of these days....
