What are the best things about art fairs
Direct contact with patrons, and opportunity to mingle with other artists and learn from them.
Best show ever and why
Fall Festival, St. Simons, Georgia -- October 2008 Good sales (especially custom order delivered after the show); good booth location, cooperative sponsor, and great seafood at local restaurants.
Worst show ever and why
Art Harvest, Dunedin, Florida -- Nov. 2008 Right before elections, very poor sales in an area where my work should sell. The juror had a known bias against photography, didn't look at my work and awarded his friends. The good part: sponsoring organization very cordial. I would do this show again in better economic times and with an appropriate juror.
