First show ever
A First Wednesday inside show at a local jeweler.
What are the best things about art fairs
The best thing about fairs, festivals and 1st Wed (Thurs & Fri) art events are the PEOPLE! You meet many like-minded artists and vendors...95% are really great to share with, There are always a couple of downer types, but few and far between. And the potential customers who stop in the booth/tent. I gain so much from everyone as each has their individual world they live in and are willing to share some of it with me!
Best show ever and why
Very first show at a coffee house in W. Salem (which is no longer in business). It is when I decided that maybe my art was good enough to show, and I sold my first painting there! About a month later I won a Best of Show at the local Community College art gallery. Some times you just have to listen to what the universe is telling us.
Worst show ever and why
A local retirement community one day holiday sale. Lots of kitsch, no other artists (excepting a wooden birdhouse maker), no one sold a thing and the manager of the 55+ park had a fit when his amateur photography was taken down for others (like me) to hang their work on the nails provided.

What is one fun fact about yourself?
I have played bass in many bands for the past 45+ years; everything from oldies to gospel and everything in between.

Did you intend to start a discussion about pastel in shows? I'd be happy to discuss it in a forum, but for whatever reason I can't seem to locate where you posted the topic.
