Years in the Art Fair Business
2
First show ever
Arts on N Street in Washington, DC. It was a two weekend show. The city only did this one time and it was successful with the exception of a downpour on the second weekend. We hope that the city would reconsider putting another art show the following year, but it has not happen.
What are the best things about art fairs
There is a great opportunity to talk to people looking for and interested in art. Art fairs help you present your work in the best possible way and to gives you opportunity to sell your expressions.
Best show ever and why
Hyattsville annual arts festival in MD. The art show was entertaining, really good music and a diverse crowd. The organizers had provided tents and tables, so the setup was easier. I had great conversations with other vendors and attendees. The attendance was spotty due to the weather (had threats of rain) but the area was in the center of the shopping corridor and had buyers for originals and prints of originals.
Worst show ever and why
I do not have a worst show ever (knock on wood) because I do not do a lot of shows. I work with my daughter to look for opportunities in art shows and to use other avenues to show and sell work.
