First show ever

I cannot even remember. We have done shows in West Virgina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. Currently, we are in the Apple Festival in Ellijay, GA.

What are the best things about art fairs

I like to talk to people about my art. People are interested in blacksmithing, and I enjoy answering their questions. Being able to provide for my family and to enjoy the work at the same time is priceless.

Best show ever and why

One of the best shows we ever did was at the John C Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. Not only was it one of our most profitable, I had the opportunity to talk to a blacksmithing legend and gained so much knowledge. The people I meet doing shows is such a treasure.

Worst show ever and why

Unfortunately, one of the more recent shows we did was also one of the worst. While the venue was amazing, the weather was so hot that rescue squads were constantly being called for heat exhaustion. Due to the extreme heat, those who did brave the weather, did not want to shop. No one wanted to be out in the heat. There were no fan/cooling stations. There was one building that had air conditioning. It was just an uncomfortable weekend.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I have six kids, and my son, Mason, stated blacksmithing at 4 years old.
