What are the best things about art fairs

Sharing thoughts, ideas, etc., with other artists.

Best show ever and why

That first show ever, A Fall Gathering of Artists, 2012, because it was our (my husband's and my) first show ever, and I couldn't believe I had been invited to participate. We had attended before, but to have our own art on display was beyond belief for me. Didn't hurt that we made the most money at that show than any since, but I still have the same attitude every year..."it's an honor just to be invited." I also enjoy sharing ideas and creative/logistical energies with the other artists.

Worst show ever and why

Bovanofest 2015 (2nd year), Cheshire, CT. Poorly promoted, little attendance (both by artists and customers), compared to first year. Didn't participate in year 3, and I don't believe year 4 ever happened.

Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.

Saw a post by Kelly Bort on FB thread at "S*** Overheard at Art Festivals" (which I recently discovered via a post on another group (probably one of my glass groups).

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I'm relatively new to creating art (almost 10 years), but retired from my day job recently and am looking forward to spending much more time in the basement "studio" (and, hopefully, building a new freestanding studio!).
