Years in the Art Fair Business

First show ever
The Redwood Mountain Fair at Roaring Camp in Felton, Ca.
What are the best things about art fairs
Talking with people about the subjects we capture in our photography. There is a lot of small talk, however there are some brief and deep connections when someone will open up about how an animal in one of the photographs connects for them personally. And just sharing and connecting with others how precious and amazing animals and nature really are.
Best show ever and why
Our first year at the Redwood Mountain Fair. It was our first year and our first fair. We made out like bandits. Our booth was busy the entire weekend, it was well organized and the volunteers were attentive and friendly. The music was great too!
Worst show ever and why
Marysville Peachfest. It was advertised as THE PREMIER event of the area. It was our first year and we thought, " What the heck, lets give it a try". Friday night no one even stopped in our booth. We found out later it was one of the places hardest hit by the downturn in the economy in California.. A few booths down they were selling designer knock off sunglasses for $5.99. It was an over glorified flea market.

From painter, Erika Perloff at a mutual First Fridays event at the County Building in Santa Cruz.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I'm writing for my husband, so I will say he has a great sense of humor and will think of the silliest things to say. But it always makes people laugh and smile, especially me.
