First show ever

1st Chick's Beach Art Show, August 2006. This was a very informal gathering of about 12-15 local artists. I didn't do another show until the next year (2007). The second show got me started doing more shows.

What are the best things about art fairs

Meeting people and talking about your work. I do my photography to share my love of nature and wildlife with others.


Best show ever and why

That's a toss up. I love the Ocean View Art Shows and have participated in the everyone since2007. They are large shows, 60 to 70 artists, situated in a park along the Chesapeake Bay. The event is put on by artists, and 2012 will be the 50th year. My other favorite show is the Chic's Beach Art Show. Great support from the local community and always good sales.


Worst show ever and why

Probably the Virginia Beach Art on the Curve. The director owned a gift shop with a large front lawn, on a busy road to the Beach. She charged us to set up on the lawn on Memorial Day weekend, then did absolutely no advertising. Traffic was bumper to bumper, but no one knew there was an Art Show going on!
