What are the best things about art fairs
Being able to reach other audiences for selling my work. Meeting new artists. Being able to see other parts of the country. Being able to spend more time with my wife who is also an artist as we do shows together.
Best show ever and why
2008 Watertown Art Festival - Watertown, SD The management of the show was fantastic with communication, help for all artists when needed, constantly checking to see if we needed anything, artist hospitality room, much advertising. There were over 75 artists and thousands of attendees. Sales were fantastic. This was an inside show in a convention center. We had artist demo rooms to help educate the public regarding processes and techniques.
Worst show ever and why
2011 Watertown Art Festival - Watertown, SD There was a change in show management. The show changed venue which was smaller and much harder for the public to get around to the artists. There was a total lack of communication and publicity. This was the year the show died. Only 10 artists that attended and we couldn't find out what artists were going to attend until we actually showed up. There were less than 100 attendees over the course of the weekend.
