  I applied a few yrs. ago to 57th but did not get in. Some friends do that show and do very well there. And it is the wkend before Old Town, if you are lucky enuf to get into both. Probably will apply to both next year.

  I figured that last yr. was a good year to skip Chicago - due to the flooding in WI, long detours adding many hours to the driving and then poor weather at the show. All that combined with poor sales - it was better to stay home and get ready for DM and CCAF. So it worked out for me in the long run. What is the other show you do in Chicago? Port Clinton?

  No, did not get into Old Town for the second year in a row, after about 16 straight years in the show. Tough, as Chicago is one of my best shows. This yr there were 700+ apps for about 50 spaces. May be a long while before I get back in with those odds! Sigh....

Jody is missing too...and Linda Steinworth. I'd surely like to build this site into a useful resource for artists with a goal of eventually of making it a place where sales can even be made.   Hi Margaret:
  Thanks for giving me this web address! It'll be fun to watch check in from time to time. (I have to change my bio. I didn't read it close enough. I read "years in the art fair business" as "years in the art business". At the moment I look like some kind of art fair veteran...33 years!
  As for Cherry Creek, I wish we were going. I missed the application deadline! But your ideas sound wonderful. I will be definitely applying to some of the same out of town festivals you guys go to. I was thinking of Chicago. As for the "what's your favorite art festival" question in the bio, I wasn't going to list Uptown, not after what I've heard! Cherry Creek was an educated guess. :-)

  Howdy Margaret!
  We get started next month with ACC Atlanta and then West Palm Beach. April is ACC St Paul. So we are starting off by being wimps and staying indoors! Which we love. How about you? I know I saw your name on one of the summer shows we're doing - C. Creek?
