What are the best things about art fairs
I love to sell my art directly to buyers and to hear what people say about my art. I also love to create my own schedule and to pick and choose my favorite shows.
Best show ever and why
Naples National Art Festival in 2007. My art was chosen for the advertising and poster. Richard Sullivan, director, advertised in the Wall Street Journal and we were mobbed with East Coast buyers. Three of us were selling and we never stopped for lunch until 4:00 PM. My sales were unbelievable!
Worst show ever and why
Bill Kinney (Paragon) convinced us that we would have a great show on Long Island (Amagansett). We didn't know that this was the former site of a flea market. Very few people showed up for the show and we were out $3,000. It turned out to be a vacation that we couldn't afford.
