What are the best things about art fairs
Getting to show, share and hopefully sell my artwork with/to others, meeting other artists.
Best show ever and why
Woman's Club Art Fair in Napervile, IL. Beautiful setting, lots of visitors, great promotion for the fair, great support.
Worst show ever and why
Just had one this past weekend: Sheffield Music & Garden Walk, Chicago. Art show portion was completely missing from any promotion on website, signage and brochure and map. Location was relegated a half a block away from festival to a church property and only 11 artists were present. No assistance or info given for parking, artist amenities. A handful of visitors came by and practically no sales for anyone! First booth started packing 4 hours into show, the rest of the artists which came from far away, gathered in protest and demanded to speak to someone in authority which only happened by 3pm, after a number of flunkies came by to apologize but could offer nothing. The rep promised to return the $380 in booth and jury fees (no one came to jury the show anyway). Then, a violent thunderstorm came through after which one tent had collapsed and others, including me, decided we'd had enough. By the time I was packed up, close to the closing hour, only 6 booths remained and had no visitors at all! This was a total fiasco and a shameful display of total lack of care and organization for a big city fest promoters to have lured artists from as far away as New Mexico.

Sorry for the delay. I will be working on it over the next few weeks. I would like in my hand writing a logo and similar for my business name, followed by my name/title in a sans-serif font but not arial that can be easily enlarged, passed on to be embroidered and similar to start with.
And I will be looking for a compliment of my finished goods business - Gypsy Winds (I own the domain) and a third one representative of my dog that has his own following - Louie Larsen
