What are the best things about art fairs
Meeting other artists and customers.
Best show ever and why
Wild Arts by the Audubon Society of Portland (OR). In a city where art shows rarely had admission fees, people lined up to pay for admission to this juried show, which had a great selection of fine art and fine craft. Because they knew their purchases were supporting a cause they cared about, people really opened their wallets and spent on art. We had our highest grossing shows there, and attendees were always friendly and enthusiastic about art.
Worst show ever and why
A Chanukah show early in our show days. It was allegedly juried, but not really. The show runner admitted pretty much everyone that applied, and we ended up with nearly every other booth doing jewelry. Sales were minimal and it was just a painful day.
Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.
Someone on an Etsy forum recommended checking out ArtFairCalendar.com, and while browsing the West Coast offerings there, I saw a reference to ArtFairInsiders.com in the comments.

Many topics have already been discussed here before you joined us. You might like to try a search of your topic before you post your question. Just put your topic, canopy tents, jurying fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, etc, into the search bar at the top of the right side of the page. You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.
We also ask that all new members take a few moments of their time to read the code of conduct. You will find it at http://www.artfairinsiders.com/page/code-of-conduct. There are a few guidelines that all members will need to follow because , as in any social community, we all need to work together.
Best wishes,

p.s. The best way to make this system easy to use is to click on the "Follow-Email me" link at the bottom of each Forum discussion that interests you. That way the system will email you automatically whenever anyone responds. It's a great time-saver.
