Best show ever and why
My first show (I've only been to two so far) was by FAR much, much better than my second. It was two days, the booth fee was very reasonable, it was close to my home and I sold six paintings and got a commission for another.
Worst show ever and why
The Virginia Beach Boardwalk Show- Day one-the weather was hot(!), then we had an awful storm with gusts over 60 mph and the show closed 3 hours early as we tried to run for cover. Day two- rain and wind continued longer than was predicted, temperatures fell by over 30 degrees so we ended up feeling cold by the end of the day Day three- weather cooperated and had lots of lookers, se more than once or twice, but no sales. Later found out we had competition as another big local show was rescheduled the same weekend as Boardwalk Day four- see above... Sold one painting to a woman from Kodiak, AL and got my hopes up that the last day was going to be a great one for me. Unfortunately, I only had the one sale. Took a great big loss at this show for a lot of trouble. Not sure if I'll do it again. Staff and other artists were fantastic!!!
