First show ever
"Kaleidoscope"- a show I put together in my home including 5 other artists ( another jeweler, a potter, weaver, photographer and painter)
What are the best things about art fairs
of course it's wonderful to make sales which boosts our confidence but I love meeting new artists and sharing stories and learning from their experiences.
Best show ever and why
WinterArts, Germantown, TN This is an indoor show which is a great bonus for the south and it is set up like an art gallery. Each artist has their own "booth space" but there are no dividing walls so you see across the area from artist to artist. The show runs from the Friday after Thanksgiving through Christmas eve. Each artist works only 5 four hour shifts during the run of the show (those from out of town can work a weekend for their time allotment). Because of the length of the show, patrons come in time after time looking for gifts. It's a relaxed atmosphere and allows for quality time talking with the patrons.
Worst show ever and why
Art on the Sidewalk, Germantown, TN This show is in June in the south and set up on concrete. Last year the temps were in the high 90's. Too hot!
Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.
I found it on my own searching through art sites and goggling questions.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I'm an accountant by day and artist by night. People are always amazed at my use of both sides of my brain.
