Hi there,
I live in Turkey and I think I am one of a handful landscape photographers in this country. Here landscape photography is not very popular and its not worth much. Now I have an opportunity at the port of my town. They will have 1000-4000 visitors per day during summer season. Since I have no experience in Art Fairs I have a favour to ask. I limited the photos in my gallery to the ones I want to sell. Would you look into my gallery and let me know if american tourists would buy these kind of photos in small sizes? Can I count on selling like 10 per day?
I want to sell them as 5x15 prints with and without matting plus 5x15 acrylic prints.
Normal print 20 Dollars
Matted 30 Dollars
Acrylic 80 Dollars

Very nice pictures in the link. Before getting into whether they will sell or not, I see a problem in that you say you'll be selling at 5x15, which is a 1x3 aspect ratio. The images shown in the link seem to be a 2x3 aspect ratio which would print at 8x12, 10x15, 16x24, etc. To print these at 5x15 you will need to crop off quite a bit from the top and bottom which, in my opinion would degrade the feel, story, and appeal of the image. I'm not trying to be critical, the images are lovely as is and would have strong appeal at the aspect ratio of the original files. It's a tough market no matter where the location these days. :-(
The only way to tell is to test the images. But in general, people tend to purchase something that reminds them of their experience if it's done in a way that they can't do themselves. The problem to overcome is the phone camera experience which for most people is good enough.

Hi Larry,
thank you for your reply. Is there an average on how many can be sold per day?
No such thing because it's determined by experience. Obviously you want to create a size / price point that earns you the most profit.

No actually I want to calculate if I can afford to pay 2000 Dollars a month as rent
Impossible to calculate without experience. If it were an art show it would be difficult to calculate because of all the variables like weather, competition and local economics.
See if they'll give you a month trial on a percentage basis before signing a contract.
