I know this is a very specific question, but I'm hoping to buy the standard pro panels at 7 feet. I have a Toyota Highlander that appears to have only a 72 in. back bay, but I wonder if the legs are somehow retractable where the 7 foot panels could still fit. I've read about the knock down panels but I think I prefer the look and width of the standards. Welcome any thoughts. Thank you.

Thank you, Robert! This is proving to be a harder decision than I thought... I do prefer the look of the one piece panels, but I have to also consider that even if I can fit them in my Highlander - down the road with a different car the breakdowns would be the safer bet. Thanks again!
I had used a series of Dodge/Plymouth extended minivans for years and those were just adequate to fit my 7ft panels in, but were cramped on space to get everything in and it was a game of "van Tetris" after most shows to repack. When the last minivan finally wore out, I looked at the newer Chrysler models and wasn't happy to see that the cargo space was redesigned with a curve at the back which rendered it just about useless to packing the panels in without wasted space. I bit the bullet at that point and bought a full size van, a Ford E-350 12 passenger van.
I had a Highlander and the there is exactly 73 inches of space from back door to back of the front seats with the back seats folded down. Sorry for the bad news.
Thank you
I can't answer your original question regarding whether the 7ft panels would fit your vehicle, but thought I'd mention that if you do end up going with a knockdown panel, the ones from Armstrong Display Products come in the standard 38" width that you prefer.
Thank you, Mandy!
