Hi all...this is my first post here. I've been following for a couple years now, and really appreciate all the insight provided on this site. So, I missed the deadline for the Original Art Fair in Ann Arbor and decided to apply to both State Street and The Guild's show. Now I have to choose between the two. Any opinions on this? Thanks. Oh, and I sell jewelry...mostly sterling.

  • I agree with Larry. The Guild has the artists best interests at heart and is accessible for your questions. None of their spaces are in out of the way areas that see little traffic -- and the logistics can be navigated.

  • Interesting question.

Basically when you reach zero on the waiting list in the Michigan Guild, you can have a (semi) permanent space so you can build a following. That and once you're juried in you can depend on doing A2 (the abbreviation for Ann Arbor) every year.

Besides having your customers find you easily, you know where the most convenient restaurants, bathrooms and parking are located. Takes all the guesswork out of doing what could be the most complicated show in the country.
