Borrowing pro panels. Do not know what to use to hang paintings. The owner was hanging children's work, so just stapled into panels. I am hanging paintings in sizes from 36x36 to 8x10. Can I use small tacks or nails? Just found out that I cannot use my own tent/Florish mesh panels, etc. Do not have time to order supplies...have to use common household/Home Depot materials.

  • The easiest thing I can think of is to get a bunch of pipe and drape hooks, at least two per panel. Then cut strap hangers to the correct length and use s hooks. You need two hangers per painting so they stay straight and the weight is distributed. If you can't find pipe and drape hooks, ask the guys (or gals) working at home depot if they have something about 3/4 or 1 inch wide that can go over the top of the pro panels that you can attach the strap hangers to. The panels are one inch think. Strap hangers come in a roll of 3/4 inch metal with holes every inch.

Print out a picture of the pro panels hangers (from their web site) and a picture of pipe and drape hooks so they understand what you're looking for.

    • Use drapery pins.  A lot of people hate them because they're hard to pin in, but they're readily available and if you stretch them out a bit and get the right technique of pinning them in they're ok.
