Lots of our members are in Louisville setting up right now. Hope the St. James Court Art Show brings you lots of buyers, not just lookers.

(Just stole this cartoon off of my friend Loretta Fehling's FB page)

There is a lot of media information about this show. If you don't know about it click on this link:

Good news on this, as there is little available parking the city buses will be delivering patrons free to the show:

And look at this! Still looking for a room in Louisville? look what Craigslist.com has to offer:  https://louisville.craigslist.org/sub/5245953654.html

Some folks are in Texas for Cottonwood. This article has a good interview with artist Terry Causey:

  • If you've ever done St. James Court (and I know many, many of you have) you'll enjoy this article from the Louisville-Courier-journal written by someone who lives in one of those beautiful homes on Belgravia: http://www.courier-journal.com/story/entertainment/arts/2015/10/01/...

    • I'm home. The Waterford Fair in VA was cancelled, plans to reschedule-when?

  • St James, Belgravia Ct. The front of my booth is shimmed up. Not as bad as I feared being a first time at this show. I only about six inches.
    • Belgravia! That is one of the biggest challenges in the business, Matt. Hope you do well.

  • St James, please let the weather be ok? Set up today and it was beautiful.

  • An Occasion for the Arts in Williamsburg, VA made a tough decision and decided to cancel the show this weekend. Who knows how the weather will turn out but safety first. Thanks to Leo and the committee for making the right call.
    • I also agree with the call to cancel the show, but not so sure about the "partial refund" that was referred to in the cancellation e-mail or the time frame of a "few weeks" to let us know if we will be getting a refund. Do you know if refunds are customary when shows have been cancelled? Would like to get feedback from anyone that has been in this situation.

      • Amy - If we get any money back that would be amazing.  The reality is that by canceling 36 hours before the show, I'm guessing most of the costs were incurred.  I would rather see the show make good on their "supplier" bills to ensure a show goes on next year than to get a refund.  To your question though, until now, I have no experience with canceled shows.

    • Do they have an alternate date, Bill? I know that is hard to pull off, but just wondering.

      • No alternate date and that makes sense. Too many complications not the least of which is artists starting to head to FL soon. Every artist I spoke to/heard from agreed this was the right decision and all are looking forward to applying next year.
