Are you ready, folks -- art fair season in the upper Midwest really breaks out now? I'm expecting lots of reports and information and hopefully lots of smiles. Most of the economic reports are vastly improved over the last few years. I hope yours will be the same!

Monument Square Art Festival in Racine, WI, has been brought back from the dead by an energized committee -- if you're there, I hope your faith will be rewarded. Here's some info about that show: http://journaltimes.com/lifestyles/leisure/monument-square-art-festival-set-for-june---on/article_166c1e5a-c7d6-11e2-9326-0019bb2963f4.html

Midland, MI's, Summer Art Fair: http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/saginaw/index.ssf/2013/05/midlands_summer_art_fair_2013.html

Amdur Production's Promenade of Art in Arlington Heights, IL, will host some of our members, I'm sure: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/suburbs/arlington_heights/community/chi-ugc-article-expore-yourself-to-art-at-promenade-of-art-ar-2013-05-29,0,6804417.story

There is always lots of talk about Chicago's biggie, the long running 57th Street Art Fair. Will you be there? The only art fair in town that is free and offers a guided tour lead by local artists and art experts, the 57th Street Art Fair is back. The "Art Buying Boot Camp" also offers help to art rookies learn the ins and outs ...

One of the Camp's tips that artists will like: Never negotiate the price of an item that you do not intend on buying. More: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=resources&id=9118583

I hope to attend the Maple and Main Art Fair in Sylvania, OH, (near Toledo) with my art buying friends ...

  • I was nice to see you Connie on Saturday! Thank you for visiting my booth :)

  • I'll be at Summerfest in Atlanta Ga, then off for the rest of June. Going to spend some time up in Cape Cod with a friend.
  • I'll be at Debbie Netter's Deerfield Festival of the Arts up in northern Chicago and planning to head out the driveway in about three hours. I did it last year and was one of the better shows in a dismal season last year. This starts 5 shows in a row, and then nothing for 6 weeks in a row.
  • I dug out my 80's Flourish "Protector" for this the second weekend of Art On The Star. Another booth "roadside" couldn't hurt! I'll do a sculpting demo during show hours, people love to watch artists work. Thanks again for getting this baby up and running! Have a great weekend Connie!

    • Driving down the road, who can resist stopping when they see a white tent? Good luck, Damian.

  • Recovering and restocking from our grueling 4 day Folklife Festival in Seattle last weekend.  Our next show is Father's Day weekend so we are taking this time to recover and restock.

    • That sounds like an interesting event, Ruth. Did you do it from your motorhome?

      • No, however this was the last show we will do from our house which is 25 miles from the Folklife event.  House is closing on June 28th, all future shows will be from the RV, so we're busy purging, selling, donating, etc. Can't wait to be done with all of the house stuff, we'll be free to roam the country!!

  • I'll be at the Roanoke Sidewalk Art Show in Roanoke, Virginia.  My first time there but I did very well in Staunton, Virginia last weekend so I am hoping for good things.

    • Is this a new event, Alison?
