Will it be the ever popular Krasl Art Fair in St. Joseph, MI?

Look at this cute video they made for the artists:

The real biggie (many, many artists) is the Art Fair on the Square in Madison, WI.

Here is a cool story from the Detroit News comparing the nice quiet fine art fair in a lovely park in Royal Oak this weekend with details for next week's Ann Arbor Art Fair:

This story is just about Royal Oak (it was the first art fair we ever did and it is held in a great location, especially catering to those in the area who don't want to go to the blockbuster art festivals. Perhaps something for you to consider next year:

The Wyandotte, MI, fair is pretty popular in the region. Here's that story:

Me, I'm staying home to rest up for next week when I'll be attending the Ann Arbor Art Fair for a few days. Will you be there? If so, tell me where so we can meet.

  • Our only weekend off in July and oh yeah, it's moving weekend!! House closing was delayed to Monday, Sunday we begin the next phase of life living on the road full time as we travel to the location of our next art show a few days in advance.  Planning to stay at a campground within easy biking distance of the Olympic Discovery Trail.  So exhausted and yet so exhilerated to finally be done with all the "house stuff".

  • Okay, now Wyandotte is my second best show ever in my limited career. But I do see an issue I need to correct (my sales could be higher) if I have more inventory. My inventory is really low right now...
  • Sales have really picked up today at the Wyandotte Street Art Fair. If I can sell art in Wyandotte, I can really sell anywhere?
    • I didn't even know this was possible, selling art in Wyandotte. Congrats. This must be the first time ever.

      • Yes, made slightly under a $1000 in a day. $992.50 is sales today...

  • Here's another link about the Wyandotte, MI, show, that I'm sure Scott will enjoy: http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2013/07/11/250-exhibitors-pack-downtown...

Guess what the last photo is. I do believe we've had discussions about this exhibit on other days.

    • As soon as I saw the quote from Minnesota, I knew what the last picture was going to be.  Wonder if they will be at Buffalo Grove at Amdur's show there.  She seems partial to those birds along with the candles.

I am going to Northbrook since I am a fan of Erin Malloy shows and one of my favorite ceramics artists will be there.  If I have enough money left, I may drive over to Buffalo Grove and go bird hunting.

I wanted to go back to Krasl but health issues have popped up and I thought I better stay closer to home.

      • Of course you knew, Geri. I'm not going to Krasl either this year, first time in quite a few years.

Who is your favorite ceramic artist?

  • I will be at the Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair this weekend.  I just looked at the link you attached and the photo is of one of my faux raku gourd bowls.  Thanks for posting the link I didn't know the photo was being used.

The weather sounds like it will be a little cooler for this event this year, the last two years it has be right around 100 degrees both days.

    Hope to see you there!

    • Chris, I see you were quoted in that article also. Very cool.

I hope this show goes well. The Arts, Beats, Eats biggie took a little of the luster off of it when it moved to Royal Oak, but this is exactly the opposite kind of event and the park is so nice and the show so visible from Woodward. It was the first show we ever did. We lived at 8 Mile and Woodward and packed up the kids, a picnic and the art and had a wonderful weekend in the park and sold Norm's first photos. We were thrilled and hooked on the business.
