Here it comes: The Great American Art Fair Weekend! If you live in the Midwest and aren't doing an art fair there are only two reasons not to be working this weekend:
- You sold out at your June shows
- You just don't care
Here are news stories about some of the events taking place:

I'll be in St. Joseph, MI, at the Krasl Art Fair as part of the jury panel, so I'm sure I'll see everyone there!
This ought to be a great weekend for networking. Where will you be? Tell us here, booth # please, so we can meet.

I'm off for a month before doing Belleville MI municipal event then two Howard Allens in Colorado early August.
Will be checking out local shows in the meantime and consolidating lessons learned so far this year.
Lesson # 1 Artists are good peeps
Lesson # 2 You can't figure out the customers
Jack, this is a thread from three years ago…
Well.
I was looking forward to attending the 19th Annual Fairchild Mango Festival in Florida this weekend.
I was especially interested in the growing mangos in Japan program on Saturday as well "Selecting and Growing the Perfect Mango" at 11:30 on Sunday.
But, I have decided instead to devote myself to a new way of doing things. I am going to try to be a nicer person in order to have the opportunity to meet new people and share my knowledge with others and so forth and so on.
Here is a link to help explain my change of plans for this weekend. Sadly, no mangos for me this weekend, but I believe there is a higher calling here by a power greater than all of us.
I wish everyone peace, and kumbaya, and nice thoughts and positive vibes and all that stuff!
Well Amy, I can think of 5 artists who had sales by 11am today. This show has done a 180 and turned into a wonderful little show. I got to see artists I had never seen before, some I hadn't seen in a while and favorites I had seen recently. What a difference a new promoter makes.
I am going back tomorrow and will buy more.
I'll do a full review tomorrow but I had a ton of fun there today.
