In the new issue of Florida Monthly Magazine's Best of 2010 issue, the Vero Beach show has taken the top honor as the "Best Art & Craft Show in Florida". Any comments on this? Do you agree? What do you think are Florida's best shows?

  • Well, Vero is an ok show but is not a front runner. Sales and attendence are both down at vero. They added an extra day a few years ago because attendence had grown so much but really they should go back to two. I can't speak for howard allan shows but my favorites are coconut grove, winter park, bonita, fort meyers, naples march show, gasparilla, disney masters, boca museum. I don't know what the criteria are for best but it would depend , from an artists point of view on what you're selling. Some shows i do badly at others kill.
  • I think it all depends on your criteria. It is a lovely venue and a great show to do. Parking behind the booth is a grand idea especially for us artists working alone. I always make good money there and it is one of my top "want to get into" shows. However there is quite a range in quality and if you are judging on quality of work at the show, there are better ones in Florida.
