Twitter

Hi All!!  I recently joined Twitter and am still learning how to use it correctly.  I was wondering how many of you use it to market your art.  Do you maintain a following of patrons on Twitter and use it to help drive customers to your booths at fairs?  Your comments on experience with Twitter would be greatly appreciated.  I am @EHeiligenstein if anyone wants to follow my tweets.  Thanks  Elle!

  • Back to the original question of marketing art on Twitter... I try, but mostly I'm just tweeting into the void and the only replies I ever get back are from fellow artists. Which is fine, it's fun to chitchat and talk shop. But a significant marketing venue to the art-buying public? Not so much.

  • Elle, your tweets are protected and like Barbara Carter said: " If your tweets are "protected" (hidden) I can't tell if it's worth it. I'll probably just move on, too much bother." It may be better to let people see your tweets without having to follow you first. Just an idea...

    • I think you are both right. I am going to fix that now. I think my husband did that.
      • Fixed it. Everyone can see my tweets now.
        • I'm following you! Cool art, Elle.

          • Yay!!! I'm glad you're following me now!!! Thanks for the compliments. I am doing a new commission as of today, I am going to seal pet ashes in a piece for a client. It's an artistic memorialization. Could be a new niche!
  • Hi Connie, I just tweeted you @artfairs

    • Paging Connie Mettler please pick up the nearest courtesy phone and reply to Elle's tweet!:-)
      • Where do I find this?

        • Hi Connie go to your twitter page and it should be up on your home page.
