Hi, my husband, dog and I are planning a few shows in Flordia this winter and alot of the shows are in the city. We are pulling a small camper to keep prices down and wondering if anyone has done this. The city fairs are not accomodating to campers since they are in the city and Im wondering if you campers out there try to find near by camp sites to stay at.? Or do you simply avoid the bigger fairsi in the city and seek out smaller venues? Not sure how to approach this. It does limit our shows if Im trying to get into the bigger city fairs.

My husband and I pull a small camper to the shows and stay at nearby RV resorts. As soon as I get my acceptance, I start researching the nearest - or cheapest - place. It saves a lot of money, and we are only there to sleep and dress. Florida is full of RV camps, so just do a little research on nearby places before you apply. Works great for us. It costs a little more in gas to pull the RV, but we save much more in hotel and food costs. Even in the city shows, I have known other artists who got special permission to park close to the show. Doesn't hurt to ask. Best of luck. By the way, the Chamber of Commerce in most cities will give recommendations on RV parks.
