  • The spots to avoid are the little bit of Thompson between William and Liberty and the end of Maynard past William. That said, often the newcomers are stuck with those spots.

I had the corner spot at Thompson and William for a couple of years and won an award there. Traffic is lighter, since it's not on the main loop, but it is an entrance, so people do come by. I moved to William and State, near the Church, and traffic was horrible. I had buy/sell vendors across the street, and people didn't get that they weren't part of the juried show. There was some glass from China, in particular, that the vendors just kept pulling out of the boxes. That said, others have done well in the spot.

I would ask for Liberty, or the section of Maynard right next to Liberty. North U will be impossible to get for a newcomer. You can ask, but you probably won't get it.

    • Thanks, Jim, for better details. When I was writing this I was trying to remember where you had been, then remembered Luciano was on William near State so thought that would be a good area as it would get people turning up the street from State.

  • Congrats, Rachelle! The State Street Show sprawls all over the place and there a lot of spaces. To my mind, first choice would be on North University, followed by Liberty Street, then maybe William near State. You can get lots of information about the show by searching on this site. Oodles of info on AA is to be found here.
