It's a neighborhood show but the demographics of the neighborhood are very good (Druid Hills is the neighborhood of the movie "Driving Miss Daisy"). It also draws staff from nearby Emory University (i.e. highly educated) and from Decatur which has a lot of artists/foodie types. Like all AFFPS shows, it is well run with reasonable booth fees. The venue is a very pretty "linear" park. I've talked to artists who have done very well there and others who have not. (Pretty much like every show I've ever done!) I was somewhere in the middle last year. I would probably do it again this year but I'll be out of town. I do plan on doing the fall show.
If you're not too far away and you have a reasonably priced place to stay, it's worth a try.
I have not done this show in the Spring but I exhibited at the Fall Festival On Ponce last year. Although it was a well run show, I didn't do very well. I felt it wasn't geared to buying art as much as it was geared to families and people out for a stroll. From the conversations I had, I believe there was some purchasing, but I personally did not see too many transactions happening. Even the jeweler next to me didn't sell well and that is truly unusual-her stuff was beautiful and different. Maybe it will be a better show for you, very nice people (Patrick Dennis) run it and they take care of the artists. I think you will be alright if your work isn't priced too high. Remember this is just one person's opinion- it could be a great show for you.

Hi Margaret!
I so appreciate your quick reply! That really helps me make my decision. Judging by the photos of the show on the website, I also could see that it was geared toward families....and I saw too many people with hands in their pockets! And nobody carrying packages! Not a good sign! lol! Again, thank you!

I did it last Spring. Lots of families, got to meet President Carter, and made a little money. Not enough to do it again.
Thank you, Lori!
