So Who Else Applied ....

to the Three Rivers Art Festival in Covington, Louisiana?  I just got my application in this evening.  This festival had good reviews from a couple of members here.  And Covington is only about 2 hours from my home.  So, I am hoping to get in.  It is my first time to apply and I am crossing my fingers and hoping I chose good subject matter for my app.

So, ask I asked, who else has applied?

    So Sorry Cindy. I was hoping to meet you. We all get that " Not Invited" letter. It does hurt but things change I didn't make it in the 1 st time I applied to this show then I waited a few years and applied again and got in so keep at it.

      Thanks Kendra.  I will reapply next year as I was told they have a new jury each year.

    I just got my acceptance letter.  I'm looking forward to the show.  Any info from those of you who have done the show before?

      It's a great show. Loading in and out is easy. The promoters are great and take care of the artists.

    I knew when I sat down at my computer today that the jury had finished its work because I saw it mentioned on their FB page yesterday.  However, I was not so fortunate as Kendra and Greg.  I got my first out right rejection today.  Not waitlisted, just a rejection.  I would be lying if I said it didn't hurt, no big deal.  I really wanted to get in this show.  It has been highly reviewed here.  I guess I'll set the timer for 5 minutes so I can go lick my wounds in the corner.  Then I need to move on.

      I'm sorry to hear you didn't get in Cindy. We all have had, and in the future will have our share of rejections.. I don't know anyone who hasn't worn a good 1/2" off their tongue from lickin' their wounds. I know I have and it causes me to talk funny.! You will have many future acceptances in the future. Just keep on plugging away.

        Thanks Greg.  I already started looking for shows that could possibly fill that weekend.  If you have any suggestions of shows in Louisiana or coastal Mississippi I would appreciate it.

    I just got notice of being accepted. This show is only less than an hour from the house.

    I'll be there. I won an award last year and part of it was a booth for this year. Hope to see you there.

      Oh!  Congratulations on your award.  It would be great to see another AFI-er there.  This is my first time applying so I am not sure if I'll make the cut.  If I do, I'll post it here.
