Yes there are still shows requesting slides, At least Allentown in Buffalo. My work has changed since I had my last slides made a few years ago. My question is when I have my new slides made should I use the images I have , that are in the zapp format 1920x1920 with the black frame around them, or is it better not use that format and can you suggest a size thank you..lisa

4096x2730 is the format for a 35mm slide through the 4K film recorder most labs use. Trim off the black borders and size your images to best fit that pixel specification and add black borders to complete the format.
Most of the artists on the circuit use http://iprintfromhome.com for 35mm slides If you don't know how to do it, e-mail me your ZAPP images and I'll format them and upload them to I Print for you.
Every year I open the Allentown app and go immediately to the images section hoping they have come into the new century with the rest of us. Nope. Slides. Makes me crazy.
I do the same Pat, I would be so happy just to burn a CD and send it off!

Allentown isn't the only show still asking for slides. But they aren't the tightest jury either. They accept the crafts person I mentioned in my "one hit wonder" thread.
