  • Another thought,too...

We have a local Art cooperative that hosts their own events. They provide classes, given by guest Artists and Artisans, in all media, and hold two bi annual events, one in Summer during the height of tourist season, and a Holiday show. They invite Artists and Artisans that they have met through the classes, and some that they have taught, to Show at the events. They open the entire facility, their studios, and it is a great day. I have attended classes at the studio, on wire wrapping, and have been invited to "Show" my jewelry, but never have, due to scheduling conflicts. I have a few shows that I do EVERY year, that are my set $$ makers, and they are on dates that this cooperative chooses for their events!! But feed back I have received on the events is very good! Your cooperative, could potentially do the same.

  • Find out if you have any local Art Walks. My Art Walks here in Maine allow Cooperative and Guild tents or spaces. Most are a once monthly venue- during the good weather season held outside in parks, on streets, and have back up indoor locations for inclement weather!! During winter, they have set indoor locations, and invite various Artisans to set up. I am not sure on any bigger Art Fairs though!

  • Very few, Kelley. You should find shows that you want to do and ask them directly. This is too general a question to give a better answer. Where do you live? Track on the shows within the area you would like to exhibit and then put a proposal together with your friends that is so fabulous the show can't turn you down ;) Generally speaking though, this doesn't happen much.

  • Check to see if the shows you're interested in accept galleries. The Broad Ripple Art Fair and Penrod Art Fair used to accept galleries. There was a higher fee for them. A gallery I used to have work in borrowed an extra tent I had to set up in, but this was several years ago.

    • thanks Robert.
