Has anybody done Shadyside recently? I'm doing it for the first time this year, so any information or advise would be greatly appreciated. It's my first HA show too.
Thanks,
LU

Tell me about the set up. Where do you have to dolly in from? They are suggesting 5am for set up. The show starts at 10.

You need to find out your space location in advance and dolly in from the nearest cross street. Or park and find Howard or Debbie and get your space number (and store you're in front of) from them. It's easier to either check their web site or call the show office the day before the show.
What do you want to know? It's one of my local shows.
You can't drive into the street to set up because the street is too narrow. If the information says get there at 6:00AM, get there at least an hour earlier. I used to get down there at around 4:30 and 5:00AM to set up and then took a nap in the van. Unless things have changed, there is no local parking. Howard arranges for parking about a twenty minute walk away but runs a shuttle trolley back and forth.
The closest lodging is the Shadyside Inn. Only a block away. 800- 767-8483
Howard lets you run a generator for electricity. There are also a few places to plug in depending on where your space is. Work with your neighbors to share electricity if there is any where your space is. You only need a light or two on Saturday early evening.
