I just got an invoice from security compliance for pci compliance. I used to use the old swipe transponders but now I use square. I have no idea if I'm still supposed to be paying this annual fee. Is this something everyone who accepts credit cards has to pay?

Google the company you got the invoice from. A number of years ago I got a scam invoice for PCI compliance too.
I've used Square for many years and never gotten one of those. From my understanding since we are not storing credit card numbers with Square that we don't need to fill out pci compliance any more.
It has not been required since I began using the Intuit swipe or the Square swipe. Save your money. -- L
