Sausalito?

Anyone know what's going on in Sausalito? I just sent off some information to update my virtual gallery with them and got an automatic "Out of Office" message from director Patrick Roberts. The message said he is no longer with the festival. Looked at their contact page and all of the staff position listings are: TBA. Kind of bad timing with the app deadline less than a week away.

  • I received an email a couple weeks ago from Heather Huber notifying me, and others I assume that are award winners of their status. She confirmed that our applications were moved to accepted, and to fill out forms for space requests, etc. I didn't get a reply back when i asked her if the message I sent to Patrick Roberts was received, but I'm assuming she did.  That was my space request ... The good news is that Heather is the same person that has been in charge of the artist load in, and booth assignments all along.. she is not new to the show, and does know the drill. I do hope she is still there. Load in is over two days, staggered, and volunteers use golf carts to bring your work to the tents they supply. The music is outstanding, if not a bit old school, but brings in people that pay $20 to get in.. it's Labor day, and it would be nice if they don't close the Bay Bridge for repairs.. but people find their way anyway, you can even take a ferry from San Francisco.

    I saw Connie's post about the new director, they have not updated the web site yet. The director's experience should be a positive thing, change is always good after awhile..  let's hope the fancy expensive party that people pay big $ to attend- which was always great -until last year on a yacht that absolutely bombed! will be revisited.

  • Interesting, he has not returned any of my emails, that explains it I guess.. I'm an auto in with an award last year, and had some questions going unanswered. Like JAS does not show my ap going in, as I do not have to pay the jury fee. Booth locations were going to first come first serve to award winners, but no responses. 

    They did send out an email (a month ago or so) saying that the exec director, Demetri.... (sp) has resigned.. so they are looking for a new head honcho.. maybe the rest of the staff is up in the air.
