Had anyone done the St. Augustine Fall Arts & Crafts Festival? What has your experiences been like? The one I'm talking about is put on by the St. Augustine Art Association and takes place Thanksgiving day weekend. I usually do the Space Coast Art Festival that weekend, but my sales have been down so I'm giving it a break this year. I've never done a show in the St. Augustine area, so I like the idea of finding new customers. Am I likely to find many customers? I sell whimsical photography priced between $23 and $345.
Any feedback is welcome. Thank you.

John, I have done this show years ago; I live in Jax.; and am in st. aug weekly. I do the Space Coast / I just have a great following over the past 25t years; and my sales are good enough to end the year/ I would otherwise do St. Aug. why not? How much $$$ does this cost and you can't ever count out that ONE sale/ Who knows???/ I'm doing craftart in st.pete for the first time in all these years of Deland / Who knows// I will tell you that the galleries sell big $$$ glass pieces/ my field,I see it//

Isn't craft art still open? As for palm harbor. Last year was a cold shot. If you're on the side street, forget it. what nels said about st. augustine.

Jon, try Palm Harbor, it is in your back yard--just don't expect much
You will never know if you don't try; and you have missed Space coast deadline//forget that nasa stuff, the locals and tourists have been there for 25t years// Great prize money, great organization, and sales are like anywhere/ you make the bed you lie in// we all are working harder// can't make a dime if you stay home

I am willing to take calculated risks at shows and do all the time, but I try to rule out shows where the odds are stacked against me. I don't mind taking off weekends if the odds are good I'll lose money at a show. Just any facts and opinions is all I can ever ask for. I know all about the Space Coast Festival, I have participated plenty there.
Jon or Bill, have you ever participated in the St. Augustine Art Festival? I know very little about the St. Augustine show, it's not listed in AFSB, very little in Sunshine artist or any forum that I can find.
Thank you for the replies. Alison I’m glad Naples has been good to you and their fall show proves worthwhile. The Naples market has been horrible for me in recent years, and not keen on the Naples Art Association neither. Since St. Augustine doesn't sound like it's worth doing I'll probably take yet another weekend off.
I have a real light fall schedule in Florida once I get back from the north. There are just not many shows that seem worth doing. I'm now debating the Palm Harbor Art Festival. I've never done well there, but it's been 5 years since I tried it last. They are now in downtown, which should help sales. It's only 15 miles away so it might be worth a try with their low $175 booth fee. Does anyone have recent experience with this show, since it’s moved back to downtown?
This year we won't be going up north to see the daughter and grandkids so I finally get a chance to do a Thanksgiving weekend show. I'm trying for the Naples show. I've been having good sales in that part of the state so I'll see how it goes. I suspect that Space Coast will be really bad this year with all the NASA cuts.

Alison, I did this show last fall (it was called something else, but the Naples Art Assn DID run it). It's a nice, small show, set up on a shady street across from Tin City (a little bit to the east of most of the downtown Naples shows). Well organized and advertised, but it won't draw the volume of fair-goers that you might be used to if you've done in-season shows in Naples. Those that come, however, are buyers.
