We have been Roam Data folks for several years, going thru First Data for processing. The best features are how secure and fast, turn around time to our checking account and great customer service ( for when you are so brain dead you can't remember your log in !) Feel free to contact me if you would like more info. Five shows ago, I was the only vendor who could transmit in a bad location. Just an all around good service.

Hi Susan,
I don't understand how using Roam Data would increase your ability to transmit and recieve data. From what I can see that is completely dependent on your mobile phone service (Sprint, ATT, Verizon, or whatever). Is there something different with Roam Data? Their website doesn't say so. I have both Square and Intuit and don't see any difference there. One thing to always remember though is to keep your audio volume turned up. Its suppose to make a big difference since your using the audio jack.
c ya!

A fellow artisan I show with uses the square and many times when we are in a building with a tremendous amount of metal and absolutely no one can get a signal, Roam can connect on just the tiniest ammount where as Square and other refuse to. As Ruth pointed out also, I can store transmissions if needed to be processed as soon as a signal is available if needed.
The unit will not work if your audio is not set on high so maybe that is part of it as well.
The feature where you can stow the info until later sounds like a winner.
I'll check it out!
Thanks
I also started a discussion on this topic. The biggest difference we found that helped us immensely is the fact that Roam Pay has a "store and forward" option which Square and Intuit do not. So, if you're in an area without good connectivity, you don't have to result to the knuckle buster and wait to manually enter transactions.
