Has anyone else received a proposal from World Art Media? It seems to be a pay for advertising deal (scam??) Is this a new version of the vanity gallery? Pay to be on their web site and for a little feature in their magazine. The web site looks legit, but something smells fishy. Any thoughts?

I think they are run by the same people as the NYArts Magazine, www.nyartsmagazine.com. After a quick search I found http://www.atelier-rc.com/Atelier.RC/Art_Alarm.html which is a page that notes different organizations that prey on young and undiscovered artists. Generally trying to take their money while promising exhibitions, magazine coverage and publicity. Scroll down and you will find a reference to the NYArts and World Media. It looks like they are both best avoided!

Well, never mind, doesn't take much time googling this company to find out the don't have a stellar reputation. And they aren't the only one, so keep your wits about you!
Kathrine, contact Michael Weber, a member on this site. He has something going this winter that didn't turn out so well, but I'm not sure if this is the same organization.
