so after months of scrambling and buying I have something to show and submit.
I've applied with this image a few times already. Flip bins are on the way and will be inserted. Now that the weather has become civil in this Great Lakes Icebox I'll reassemble the tent and walls and reshoot the thing based on your comments here.

I just thought of something else for you, Jack. It seems that you took your picture from a tall standing position. I usually shoot mine at waist-level or close to it. Some of our work hangs lower than yours, though, so maybe that's why I do it. but it seems to eliminate a little more of the bare ground. You're probably aware of all that, anyway. But I can see the vertical lines on the left side of your booth are slanting inward as they go down which indicates you were holding your camera at a slightly downward angle instead of level with the ground. Once again, it's a nitpicky detail. Your panels may have been a bit un-level and there's not much we can do to make them perfectly straight and level. But now that I've re-seen your booth shot, I see all the lines in between the panels are slanting inward as the go down to the ground which means you must have been looking downward while taking the photo.
Does this detail matter? Probably not too much. Just try a shot from waist-level sometime and compare the two images since you may be able to keep the vertical lines from converging at all. If the camera is pointed upward, the vertical lines converge as they go up. I worked for an architectural photog for two years early in my career, so that's why I'm critical in this department with my own work.

The floor was waaaaaayyy unlevel where this pic was taken and I was more than rushed to get my tent and display down pdq. I'll be reshooting this outside soon and getting things plumbed and leveled better. Will also get my supplemental 12Volt lights in the dome and show it better in the booth shot.
Six short weeks to get everything else done.
Who told me this was going to be easy????
Another idea. There's quite a bit of panel left at the bottom of the image and a little at the top.
My instinct says adding another row of same-sized pics below the existing would be too busy. But how about lowering the existing frames a bit and adding a row of smaller framed images at the top ?
Good luck in Midland. Make sure you are prepared for rain. It has rained at least one day for the last 10 years. I would be doing the show, this year, except I need the time to make work.
Some artists who participated in the juror reviews on Sunday during Winter Park Art Festival on Sunday mentioned that they don't want to see much of the floor or the canopy. I think what Larry says about showing a little more white at top is a good idea, too. But I'd take out an inch of the floor. That's a bit nit-picky, though.
By the way, one of the Winter Park jurors/judges has an interview with Larry on his website. Sorry I'm too lazy tonight to go out there and get the URL for you. I don't even remember the judges name. It's packed away in my van. I'll look for it tomorrow and get back with you.

Your booth looks good and really clean.
A few suggestions. Raise the pictures on the top row so they all are at the same top height. It's easier for the jurors eyes to flow around the booth. Show just a hint more of the white canopy so the jurors don't spend any extra time looking at the booth picture. And clean up the floor a little to make it look more like concrete and maybe add a shadow under the walls so it doesn't look like they run into the floor.
