Connie, I cannot say thank you enough. The email I received about the pledge drive has led me out of my bubble world and the dark ages! I have only been doing shows for about 4 years and it has been a struggle trying to figure out this complex (but fun!) world. We have stubbed our toes (maybe even broke a few) too many times along the way. I've so wanted to talk to some of these veterans during shows but have been afraid to approach them in case they really weren't interested in sharing knowledge or they were too busy doing the show. I have been a member of AFI but was only looking at the list of upcoming shows and had never explored the website. Until this pledge drive I had no idea there was this amazing forum with so many wonderful artistis who have already broken their toes and are so willing to give information to help others from breaking theirs!! What little time I have been able to spend this last week reading the questions, discussions, & sharing of knowledge has been worth it's weight in gold. A perfect example is we use marine batteries for lighting but have been struggling with how short they last. I stumbled on an article with info & pics, showed my hubby and he was a happy man to have something else to try! I cannot say thank you enough and as I do shows and meet newbies along the way (there sure seems to be alot of us :-) I will definitely be telling them to join AFI. If I have a question or maybe have a bit of wisdom myself, I will definitely be using this amazing resource. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Maybe AFI have many more birthdays to come!!!
