I was just curious if anyone had done the Historic Occoquan Arts & Craft Shows in spring or fall?
I have someone I could stay with so my expenses would be minimal.
I had a fellow artist at a show this past weekend recommend these shows to me. He did say that load in & out and also set up time were all a pain but he said the shows were very profitable. He had been doing them for years. (I know one artists view of profitable verses another can be in completely different books & also how a show does for 1 person verses another & even the mediums for that matter)
I have not had any luck finding out any information on these shows. I don't mind doing small shows. I also don't mind trying new shows. I just was hoping somebody out there could give me some insite on this show to help me make a better balanced decision on this show.
I have done shows before where it was obvious that my work did not fit in at all & it was quite embarrassing. Everybody that went by my booth kept saying "WOW you should be in a gallery or something" but this was lack of research on my part & listening to other artists about what shows to do without doing my own research. Hopefully those days are years behind me LOL

Hey Mel, I was looking into that show also but I can't find a thing about it. It sounds like a promising fall show but hard pressed to take a chance on an unknown show. I am a 2D artist and I have been in your situation where it was a craft show and my work was too contemporary. I try to do better research but this Occoquan show seems a mystery.

The only thing I have been able to find is my last edition of Sunshine Artists audit book gives 1 review for the fall show & that was in 2006!
It also gives reviews for the Spring show but for 2006 & 2009 only.
I was really hoping for something newer than that to go by.
