No Electricity?

I apologize in advance as I am very new to this.  I have registered for a number of shows, a few of which say "no electricity, no generators".  At first I thought that this meant that no one could use lights or generators.  Now I believe it means that the organizers to no provide electricity and that people cannot bring generators.  However, in reading through some of the other posts on this subject, it seems that there are other types of power that can be used.  Before I go out and buy this I just wanted to make sure that "no electricity" doesn't mean one can bring the marine battery/inverter thingie I've read about.  Sorry, I no it's a newbie question.

  • Yes, you can bring a marine battery but I'd clear it with the promoter because it might be against the fire Marshall regulations.

There are battery powered lights you can use. I assume you only need it for the last hour or two of the day.

Do a search for Energizer Fusion Folding Lantern and look at getting a few of those or something similar. I have two of the older versions that took eight D batteries and we used two to light our booth at Ann Arbor years ago before electricity was provided. We hung them in the front of the booth and covered the back with aluminum foil to project all the light out the front.
