This is a military rosary I hand tie. I make both desert and forest camo rosaries that are 100% nylon and meet the military's specs for rosaries that can be carried on deployment (with individual commanding officer's permission). This rosary is forest camo.
This is a picture that needs your forgiveness, but I love the piece and so I stuck it in. The impetus for this multi-media piece is the Ascension of Christ. It is a brass filigree wrap with a cross and odds N ends representing the confusion of the Earth, then moving up in the clouds and heaven. The clouds and heaven are tinted resin in white and blue, stirred together well short of a mix. I finished the piece with sealer and added a ribbon to accent the blue of heaven. Again, sorry for the picture ... but ... it is the only one I have right now and I'm sick so .... you're stuck with it.
This is another piece that I just love. It is wire wrap and beads in the abstract. "Emerging From Confusion"
This is another fully-knotted rosary in Red, White, Blue that is for the Folks at Home.
TURN YOUR HEAD SIDEWAYS ... NOPE ... THE OTHER SIDEWAYS ... LOL ... This is a custom piece I designed and built for a graduation present. The young lady who received this loves long necklaces, is of Native American heritage and active in her tribe, is the center on a winning basketball team and a stand-out player, she sings and plays in the band, has placed first at several music contests, she is one of three children, very active in her church and attended a church school, and so forth. Her mother told me the story of her life and activities and this design popped into my head. Within the hour I sent a drawing of my design to the mother and she wrote back ... "love it, love it, love it ... you captured her perfectly." It is jobs like this that you would almost do for free -- if you could. The wire wrap above the cross represents the voices of her ancestors as they speak to her across time. This piece is called "Emily"
Okay, here is the last one for today ... well ... last series that is. This is a series of pictures of my One-of-a-Kind Steampunk Rosary Design. It is a very large rosary for a wall of a private chapel or home. Or, it can stand up to use for a person saying the rosary, but it would need to be a BIG person. Enjoy!
Yep, same for me.
What are you hiding in there, Lois? :)
Welcome to our sometimes rowdy community. We are always pleased to meet new people and look forward to meeting you often here.
Hi Lois and welcome to AFI. My computer firewall is blocking your link for some reason. Why not upload some photos of your work onto your page.
Thank you, Annette. I will work on that in a bit. Lois
