Newbie seeking advice and booth critique

Hi all!

I've been wanting to do art festivals for some time but decided this year to give it a go. I spent February making a new series of work (I make oil figurative paintings). I just purchased a tent and mesh panels and took a photo of a setup. Some paintings are still works in progress, but I put them up to fill the tent for the shot.

I would like advice on :

1. What could make the booth shot better? I photoshopped in grass instead of my cracked driveway,so I hope that's not too noticeable. I plan on using the french wall to stow packing materials. Eventually I'll have a reproductions bin and maybe a small table. But it's pretty bare bones right now.

2. Do collectors buy original portrait paintings of people they don't know? Basically, do you think my style would sell? I've always been drawn to the figure so it's all I ever paint anymore.

3. What shows would be best for my work. I've already submitted applications for two shows near me (I live in Central FL). I'm sure this is a trial and error thing, but I thought, why not ask. I have a sedan, so I'm borrowing my sister's SUV this year until I can afford a van. So staying in the FL region is key for this year.

Personally I would crop the top part of the photo with the canopy window showing. Don't see where is is anything but a distraction. The rear part of the Trimline and sidewalls show enough of the tent...Grass shows underneath the 2 side panels but white vinyl shows in the botton center. The center botton white stands out too much.

Hi and welcome! Could you add a second row of work to the side panels? It doesn't look like there's quite enough there yet to lure me in...good luck!

  Thanks, Christina! I have a bunch of works in progress so I didn't want to include them. I'll take another shot once I have more work finished.

I don't critique the art but will critique the booth picture for jurying. Pull back so you don't cut off the sides of your paintings on the side walls. You need to add shadows so the legs and feet of the canopy look real on the grass. Take off the diagonal sun reflection on the left wall.
