HI everyone! I just wanted to stop by and say HI and introduce myself. I have only started selling my frames and small home decor pieces about a year go. My boyfriend talked me into opening up a shop on Etsy and it's all kind of snowballed from there. Since then, I have been to 4 shows, 2 of which have been pretty big ones. They take a lot more work then I thought they would and I am always looking at everyone else setting up and thinking "Am I ever going to be that organized with my setting up?" Some how I think that comes with a lot of time and practice... and someday I will get there :) This past Saturday I was at my first really big show, the Trenton Ave. Arts Festival in Philadelphia, PA. The weather was decent and the crowd was huge! I made a few sales (actually the most I have made at a show) but the crowd that was there wasn't really the type that would typically go for my wares. It was an excellent experience though! I am really looking forward to meeting and getting to know people on this site, and really looking forward to help when I have questions... hahaha :) Hope to talk soon!

Hi Jennifer and Welcome!
We are a pretty fun, informative and experienced group! This is my second year, and I am still perfecting things here and there. Everyone here is helpful and insightful. Any questions will get answered- the experience is vast and varied! Enjoy
Hi Amy! Thanks for your encouragement :) I have found that the the artists and vendors at the few shows I have been to have been very helpful and generous with their tips. And I do believe you when you say it's going to get easier... hahaha :) I will post some of my pieces up and see if you all have any suggestions on the type of shows I should do. The one I went to yesterday had more of an alternative crowd and my items are more fun and whimsical. The show was a great experience in dealing with a large crowd. Plus it helped that my boyfriend was with me to keep me company and motivated... hahaha :) Thanks again, and I will take up your suggestion on posting some photos.

Hi Jennifer--welcome, and hang in there. When I did my first show almost a year ago, it was the hardest, most exhausting thing I've ever done. But the other artists just smiled and assured me that it gets easier. And they were right--with a grand total of FIVE shows under my belt now, it really HAS gotten a lot easier. You might want to post some pictures of the type of work you do, and then ask if any of the members have any suggestions as to which shows would be good for you and in your area.
