How well do the art fairs do in Nevada? I haven't heard of too many taking place there. Do they do well?

Hi Jacki,
So far I've only done 3-4 art fairs per year here and I did okay but I'm starting to gain a following and other new buyers interest in my work so hopefully my sales will pick up in 2015. There's several art fairs here big and small and it seems the numbers are down so it's kind of a hit and miss but I do well selling prints of my artwork and a few of my original paintings.
Best,
Denise

Hi Denise -
What can you tell me about the Henderson Art Festival over Mothers Day weekend?
So happy you've decided to join us here at AFI! We love it when new artists introduce themselves in this format and we have the opportunity to get to know you a little better. It sounds like you really have enjoyed the Art Fairs that you've participated in...I haven't really made the leap yet, still selling in galleries and gift shops but maybe someday...best of luck to you and stay connected here, it'll definitely help.

Hello Denise and welcome to our group. We have a lot of information here for you to learn from. How far do you travel to do shows? Do you stay in Nevada or venture into other states?

Hi Jacki,
Thank you. I mainly travel locally but the farthest I've traveled is NY first time ever it was fun but challenging. Next year I plan to venture out to other southwest states I also exhibit at a few local galleries but I like the art fairs better!
Welcome, Denise. Do you travel far for shows? How do you feel about the exhibiting? Pretty scary at first? I have practically no Nevada shows on my radar. Are there any?
Hi Connie,
Thank you. I mainly travel within 25-30 mi from where we live in Henderson But the farthest I've traveled was to NY for the ACAC at the Lincoln Center 2014 we've never been to NY ( my husband and I ) so it was quite the adventure. I would say that in NV the Summerlin Art festival was the best for me because it was well organized and attended.I've found that or so it seems if there is a big event happening down on the strip that weekend of the art fair then you don't get much foot traffic.
I like to exhibit my artwork at art fairs because its a good opportunity for exposure and in the short time I've been doing them I've actually gained a following of my work. On the down side it is indeed scary and I certainly can relate to the challenges I've read on AFI discussion board but I am learning to be more selective of where I exhibit and just reading the reviews here have already been helpful. I was wondering if anyone has exhibited at the Keyante,UT art fair a customer recommended it to me because she thought my artwork would do well there so if anyone has any info I would appreciate it.
Thanks again.

Will you go back to Lincoln Center?
