I am doing my first juried show next month -- Paradise City in Massachusetts (3 day show) -- and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for how many "copies" of images I should bring. I am displaying 15 large framed images - and am trying to figure out how many "mat" only copies I should have. I plan to offer mat only in three sizes (image size 16x20, 11x14 and 8x10). Any other suggestions/advice also welcome! Thanks in advance.... ~ Deb

But to answer your question, not too much so you don't end up making a profit. When you say first juried show, have you done any shows before and do you know if you have any images that are proven sellers? If not, not more than two backups for each images that you hang on the walls.
I recommend eliminating the middle size, hanging the larger size uniformly on your display and put the smaller size in a browse bin to sell matted unframed.
Paradise City is potentially a good show, one of the best retail shows in New England. If you have the right images you could do very well.

Thx Larry! Very helpful advice and this show will definitely be a learning experience for me!
I agree with all Larry has said above. In addition, I'd suggest referring to the mat size, not the image size, when you communicate with customers. Why? Because that's the size that drives what frame size they need to buy. And good luck!!
OK - I am realizing I have so much to learn about the "business" of crafts fairs! Am feverishly printing and matting away! Thanks!
