Hello everyone and let me say that AFI is a great place to be for a new artist, as well as many of you experienced artists.

With that out of the way, allow me to introduce myself to the membership and tell a bit about myself.

My name is Richard Scott Pack, but I go by my middle name of Scott. I have been married 29 years to a lovely woman (Sherri) and have two of the best sons a man could ask for.

I got into this business as a way to bond and be closer with my youngest son Tyler, who btw is a photographer. My oldest son, Brandon soon sparked interest and joined us in this venture. Together we each offer a different style in art. My son Tyler offers photo prints, Brandon offers his Fiber Light Artwork™, and I do digital paintings/renderings of photos I take.

AFI has been a blessing for me, as I am totally clueless to the whole artist / art fair scene. I have owned my own business in the past and understand the fundamentals of business, but this foray is out of my knowledge base. Thus my luck in finding and reading posts by other experienced (seasoned) artists here on AFI. To each of you for gratefully sharing your knowledge with us inexperienced newbs, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My wife and I live in Kentucky near Louisville. We moved out of Louisville several years back to a rural community. My sons have since moved out and now the wife and I are empty nesters. :)

Although I do not have the talent to paint, or sculpt, or do the conventional types of art, I feel that, although digitally based, my sons and my work is art. I suppose time (and sales) will determine just how much others consider it art.

I (we) have only setup for one showing, which after doing the show it turned out to be more of a farmer's market than a place for any form of artwork. I am trying to take things slow, get into the cheaper (perhaps non-juried) fairs or events to get a feeling of what people think of our work before going any deeper than I have financially.

Although we don't have a factory built art wall, my sons and I built our own, and I think it turned out fine. We are in the process of building more as some shows (I read) do not allow tables. (And in my opinion, if it is suppose to hang on a wall then why display it on a table?)

I will post images of our first both setup and samples of the type of work/art we do. I welcome your feedback (positive or negative) on the images and work. (The only way to learn is to listen to others that have years of experience in a field.

Basically that sums things up in a nutshell. I look forward to conversing and someday contributing my experience with others on AFI.
