Hi everyone! I'm Bob from Little Rock, Arkansas and retired by force last year. I started drawing about 60 years ago and have had very little training. THis is amjor bummer, because I would be much better had I received good training an dnot had to leav my art lie about without continuing to practice. It has been almost 10 years since I have done anything in the way of drawing. No! eally I can draw some and with practice I think I would be pretty good. I am trying to learn about oil painting which I have done off and on for 55 years. Not knowing how to do things has caused some real heartaches and major failures. Well, I am here and hope to be encouraged and held accountable. THis is a wonderful idea. I have attached a picture I did about 10 years ago in color pencil (copied from an Arizona Highways Magazine).

  • Hi Bob, Welcome to Art Fair Insiders. I think your picture of the Indian woman is amazing. I know that life gets in the way sometimes, but you should have no proplem picking up where you left off with you drawing or anything else you decide to do. Jacki had a good suggestion of taking a class, I have always found classes fun and chalenging....and as you well know...practice always makes thing easier. Please keep sharing your work, I would love to see more. This is a great place to make new friends that are willing to help with any questions you may have. So happy you joined us here. Take care,

  • Hello Bob and welcome. You definitely have some major talent. That Indian you drew was fantastic. Sounds like you need some confidence though. Why not enroll at a junior college art class. There must be something available near Little Rock where you could take a class. You may learn some valuable pointers and get some confidence that will help you to sell your work. Not only that, a class would be fun. Not that your art looks like it is lacking. That indian was great. Good luck and we are glad that you have joined us here. Keep us posted.
