Yes, Connie, it is easy to get obsessed. Here is a web site to feed your obsession: Free App Alert
Most pay for apps have a couple of days where they give away the application for free. This web site lists them. You can get some really great applications and not have to pay anything for them.
Spent the day at the hospital in Kalamazoo while Norm had a "procedure". Got acquainted with the device a little more. I have to say the new header on this site looks very cool on that little screen!

It looks cool on the big screen, too! A big improvement!
Funny, I read this post wrong. lol! Btw, thanks Jim. That worked for me. Of course, with all the info including ads, I need to magnify everything to read anything. I wonder how many other sites are formatted in the same way. Note to me: Always look at the bottom of a page, on my I-phone to see what other options there are.
Another thing that I noticed is that I can add AFI to my home screen. Better than that, I can create a folder and put all the web sites that I access a lot into that folder, which makes it easy to get to the sites I go to every day. Cool!!

With the new iOS 5, many sites have access to the "reader" function in Safari. In the URL field, you'll see a little button that says "Reader". Clicking this will strip away all the ads, and bring the main window into focus, much like a pdf file. It's MUCH easier to read an article this way. When you're done, click it again, and you're back to the web page. Unfortunately, some site pages don't work with this nifty feature. Including artfairinsiders home page. I suspect it's a Ning issue, again. In the normal Safari desktop browser, you see an RSS feed button instead of the Reader button.
But if you go to a blog, you'll see it pop up. Even on the iPhone. Yay! But it doesn't render the comments, either, just the main post.
The new phone and IOS 5 doesn't come with instructions. I downloaded a manual in pdf format that gives the basics. Things seem complicated until I learn what to do and then I think that they are logical and simple. I find myself going to all the I-phone web sites to learn different functions. This phone has so many more options than they tell us. I learn new things every day.
I can access it 2 ways. I can access it from the safari browser. Tap the Safari browser on the first page. You will get a page with a google search function at the top. Type in artfairinsiders.com and it will bring you to the web site. At the bottom of the page there will be a rectangle with an arrow pointing right. If you tap that, it will bring you to a page that allows you to bookmark it. Then every time you want to access AFI, you tap the Safari browser. The next icon over from that rectangle is your bookmorks. It looks like a tablet that the ten commandments were on. The next one over is your current history of recent pages. The rest is intuitive.
The second way to access AFI, actually my preferred way is for those who use Firefox as their desktop/laptop browser. Download the free Firefox app for the I-phone and sync your bookmarks from your computer. Use the Firefox browser.
Call me if you still have a problem. You can sign in to AFI when you want to post something. I'm not sure if you can stay signed in because I haven't tried to sign in from my phone. Too small.

Thanks for these suggestions -- somehow I got there, not sure how. Now just tell me, do I have to spend the next week getting up to date on this?
Learn as you go.
