I am resigning in a few days from my "full-time, paycheck" job, to take on the "full-time" job of nurturing my Photography business. I am so grateful for this site, because it offers me inspiration and the feeling I can oly get from like minded people.
I hope I can give back a little of what I receive from being a part of this communty.

I hope you've been contemplating this for some time and are ready for the no paycheck showing up with regularity and have planned accordingly and that you are really tough and ready to work hard. There are so many great things about self-employment but it isn't for sissies (not to imply...)
New people here usually ask a lot of questions but before you know it they are answering them for others. There is a nice give and take and we're pulling for you.
I left my regular paycheck job in 1984 and it has been a great life.

Good for you!! I still "work" part time, and do my business full time- hectic, but with no kids at home, much more feasible!! You will enjoy being able to concentrate on your Art, but may feel lonely after a while!! Occasionally, I feel the need to interact with others, when NOT at a show, so I come here!! Enjoy your new found freedom to be "THE BOSS"!
